Richmond is voted the happiest place to live six years running

Today, 18 January, is Blue Monday, a name typically given to the third Monday of the first month of the New Year. It is called this as it is said that by this date many people will have broken their New Year’s resolutions, it is a while off until pay day and it is still somewhat dark and cold outside. However, here at Major Son & Phipps we are trying to keep positive. With the news of the rollout of vaccines coupled with the nights gradually getting longer, it feels as though – hopefully – the beginning of the end of the Covid-19 pandemic is in sight and that we can start to look ahead to spring.

And with Richmond voted the happiest place to live for the sixth consecutive year just a few months ago in a Rightmove study, we’re making the most of what our borough has to offer. The poll that surveyed more than 21,000 people highlights that Richmond offers the best of both world’s with its mixture of greenery, yet excellent transport links to Central London, along with friendly neighbours who look out for each other.

Director of Rightmove Timothy Bannister reflects on the result saying: “Lockdown has enabled people to rediscover what’s on their doorstep, and spending more time in their local areas has made people value their surroundings and communities so much more.”
